Die fünf Stadtteile von New York und seine 2 Millionen Zuschauer an der Strecke machen diesen Marathon zu einem einmaligen Erlebnis. Jessica durfte dieses Jahr auch teilnehmen. Trotz heftigem Gegenwind erzielte sie den fabelhaften 10. Rang in ihrer Altersklasse. Hier ihr Bericht und ihre Fotos: Ich flog am Donnerstag mit meinem Vater nach New York um dort den New York Marathon zu laufen. Wir wurden begleitet von Kuoni/Ryffel Running und es war alles super organisiert. Die Tage vor dem Lauf nutzten wir, um die Stadt anzuschauen und schon bald war es soweit. Sonntags um 4:30 gab es bereits Spaghetti und um 06:00 fuhren wir mit 4 Cars zum Startgelände wo wir noch 3 Stunden bei starkem Wind und Kälte warten mussten. Leider konnten wir nicht wie geplant um 10:00 starten, da sie die „Wellen“ schon geschlossen hatten. Wir mussten nochmals 30min warten, hatten aber Glück, dass wir dann etwa unter den ersten 100 starten durften (pro Welle ca. 12’500 Läufer) und kamen am Start schnell voran – oder eben auch nicht: die ersten Kilometer lief man wie gegen eine Wand und da wir so weit vorne starteten, konnte man auch fast nicht Windschatten laufen. Als es aber durch die Stadt ging, bemerkte man den Wind zwar weniger oft, aber trotzdem war es teilweise sehr mühsam. Die Stimmung auf der Strecke war genial! Einfach unbeschreiblich! Aber ich war trotzdem froh als ich endlich im Ziel war, für mich wurde es schon nach der Hälfte hart und die letzten 10KM waren dann wirklich schlimm. Ich wurde geplagt von starken Krämpfen in Waden und Oberschenkel und hatte Kopfschmerzen. Mit meinem Resultat bin ich trotzdem sehr zufrieden, aber ich werde bestimmt nicht so schnell wieder einen Marathon laufen 😉
